Yesterday, as I knelt at the altar rail before the Tabernacle watching the porch light of our Lord flicker, tears began to flow as I voiced intentions of prayer alongside a spiritual sister. I had no idea the tears were coming.
As the amazing miracle of Jesus’s Resurrection penetrated the hearts of the Apostles and disciples, the work of the Early Church began first timidly and then boldly.
In what season of life are you? Are you in the single and loving it season? Are you in the newlywed season? Are you in the overwhelmed young parent season?
The path unknown has mystery and requires trust. We are asked to walk into the unknown daily. It is a call for surrender and faith in God who does know where our road leads.
Lately I have found myself having very full days of service and sacrifice. Divinely appointed and humanly carried out. Also, some upsetting words were spoken aloud by one of my teenagers and the lack of faith experienced.
I sometimes wonder why Jesus uses the examples He does in his parables and why the Bible can appear so tedious to read through in some parts (see 1 Chronicles).
Once again, our first reading this week comes from St. Luke’s: “The Acts of the Apostles” rather than from the Old Testament, as is the case on most Sundays.
This week I was refreshed and renewed. It felt so good to gather and Praise Him alongside others who just needed the same experience, to witness the Holy Spirit inspire and guide where two or more were gathered in His name, to pray alongside other warriors in the ongoing battle while in this world as we look forward to the next.
Through His sacrifice, Jesus showed us the most perfect love and extended an ocean of mercy upon each of us. This undeserved gift should change us and prepare us to follow Jesus more perfectly.
Divine Mercy Sunday was established by Pope John Paul II on April 30, 2000, in recognition of visions received by Sr. Faustina Kowalska of Poland in the 1930’s in which Jesus promised an overflow of Divine Mercy on the Sunday after Easter.

Para el segundo año de preparación sacramental, los padres siguen siendo los primeros maestros de la fe (CCC n.º 2226). Este es un rol continuo tanto para los padres como para la vida de los estudiantes.
La preparación sacramental se llevará a cabo una vez al mes. Se pide a las familias que asistan semanalmente a la misa dominical, compartan el Evangelio en casa, participen en un retiro, recen el Rosario y que los padres asistan a una charla mensual con nuestro querido sacerdote.
Se ponen recursos a disposición de los padres, especialmente en lo relativo a la misa. Se pide a los estudiantes que traigan un misal para que lo firmen al finalizar la misa de su elección (sábado o domingo).
A continuación, se presentan las fechas de las charlas dirigidas a los padres. Los estudiantes asistirán a clases en un aula en la misma fecha y horario: de 6:30 p. m. a 8:00 p. m.
