How I love moments the Lord allows that just spoil us as His beloved children- Moments of laughter and tears, of communion and community., moments when someone shares from the heart how we have made a difference in their faith walk.
Last night, I was blessed in such a way. A special group of ladies treated me, to not only a meal and tons of fun, but, most dear to my heart, to a small glimpse in the role I have played thus far in their faith walk. These women may never know what last night meant to me, because it is difficult to express the words that fully describe what a true gift it was.
During dinner, two of the women shared intimate details of a moment in our friendship and Christian sisterhood with the rest of our party. Although I am uncomfortable with being acknowledged for doing anything, I was prompted to sit and receive the gift being presented to me, a type of gift that can only come from the Lord through those who live in His will and love Him.
I would pray we all have these moments. I pray we all sit quietly and receive encouragement and thanks for loving others as Christ has loved us. I pray we all take a moment to give to others the realization that they have been used by God, who they know, love, and serve, to encourage us on our faith walk and that we have noticed their virtues and works of mercy.
Now, more than ever, be Christ-like and acknowledge when those around you have been Christ-like to you.
Praise be Jesus Christ, now and forever! Praise be His Holy Name. All glory and praise be to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Thank You, Lord, for all thy benefits! Thank You, Lord, for the gift of Faith, for the communion of Saints, for the privilege of knowing Your Son, Jesus! Thank You, Lord, for Your Mother, for the sacramentals, and for the many opportunities to LIVE our Faith!
Forgive us, Lord, for all the times we have neglected to praise You. Forgive us, Lord, for our limited perspective and failure to focus on our blessings. Forgive us, Lord, for any unnecessary divisiveness, for any undue or rash judgment we have taken upon ourselves, but, mostly, for our lack of perfection in loving You with our whole heart, our whole mind, our whole soul, and our whole strength.
