Praise God for His goodness! His constancy! His never ceasing care! His perfect Love!
This has been a Lent straight from Heaven – a very real time of uniting myself with Mary as she watched her Son suffering- beaten, mocked, spit at, crucified, and died. What swords pierced her heart! It amazes me that she STOOD at the foot of the cross and bore all that pain, when I could barely function and was brought to my knees in sorrowful prayer bearing my own crosses this Lent that cannot even compare to what she experienced!
Through uniting my suffering with His and truly placing myself in the scenes of His passion and death especially through His Mothers eyes, I experienced true surrender to His will. There is something about going through pain and circumstances so far beyond your control that reminds us that He is God; He is in charge, and we can do nothing without Him. There is a spiritual growth that occurs in that situation that cannot be explained until you’ve been through it- and so many of us have!
This Lent has reminded me of the immense value of intercessory prayer. When your prayer is TRUST and SURRENDER because you cannot find the words to pray- all you can do is give it all to God, you can actually FEEL the graces granted to you by those praying for you and your intentions. The trust and surrender comes from the grace of those interceding for you! The spiritual treasury we read of in the catechism becomes soooooo real!
I pray that you have had a Lent from Heaven! I pray that your praise is trust and surrender! I pray that you never doubt the power of your prayers for others! God is sooooo good to us! He is almighty! He is all loving! He is all merciful!
May the joy of Easter reign in our hearts!
