Monica’s Praise Report 11/02/22

Post Date: November 2, 2022

I have to admit, as I type this, that I am just not in the mood to praise and give thanks. As I write this, I’m in a funk … I’m hormonal; I have THREE teens; I have THREE who still need a momma to be available to them and teach them how to read;, I have been in our new home for months now, and we are not fully unpacked; the floors have not been mopped, and no one seems to know what to do about the fact that I just “can’t even”. I’ve lost my super powers to inspect what I expect from the kids – I’m just a mess!

But living our faith and praising and thanking God is not based on feelings or having it all together. It’s based on the fact that HE IS GOD and WE ARE NOT!

So despite the fact that I don’t feel worthy, and I don’t feel like praising and thanking – I CHOOSE TO PRAISE AND THANK HIM. I WILL REMEMBER ALL THE LORD HAS AND IS DOING FOR ME! AND I CHOOSE TO TRUST THAT THIS FUNK IS FOR MY ETERNAL BENEFIT!

I praise you God for your constancy! Thank You that you are the same yesterday today and always!

And a BIG thanks for God’s awesome math skills ! Here is an everyday miracle story – I can’t explain it; I don’t know how He did it- I just know He did!

I use a grocery list app that has the ability to remember the cost of items I previously have bought. So when I add bread or eggs or milk to my list, it places the value I previously paid. I can see what I need, how much it costs, and what all my groceries should total. My last big grocery trip, I had $400 budgeted. My grocery list app totaled $560 or so. I went through the list SEVERAL times trying to adjust it to include only what I needed or decrease the amounts of items, and I still couldn’t get it down enough. I prayed “Lord, if You can multiply the loaves and fish- You can help me with this! Momma Mary, you noticed at the wedding feast exactly what was needed and when – please let your Son know my needs”. And then, I just shopped and prayed – prayed and shopped. When I checked out, my total was $320!!!! Now, I know I had digital coupons, and there were sales – but not two hundred dollars worth! God is so awesome!

Now Lord, help me to always remember all that You are and all that You do – especially when I don’t feel like it!

Sacred Heart family, I encourage you all to CHOOSE to praise Him and thank Him, and don’t forget to share your everyday miracles, for your sharing may just help someone else CHOOSE to praise and thank even if they are in a funk!

Who do you say that I am?

Who do you say that I am?

He said to them, "but who do you say that I am?" Simon Peter said in reply, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Jesus said to him in reply, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father." -...

The Prayers God Always Answers

The Prayers God Always Answers

The Choice of Stewardship

The Choice of Stewardship

What does it mean to be a good steward? Does it mean to be an active parishioner, or something more? Are we better stewards because we give more in terms of our money and time to our parish, or are we called to do even more than that? The truth is that stewardship is...

God and the Good Strong Wind
